Presentation on Profit

This year we were asked by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) VIC to present at their Building and Business Conference in April at “Jeff’s Shed” on, ‘Profit Margins: How can I make my business more profitable?’

The HIA (Housing Industry Association) is the peak national residential, building, renovation and development industry association in Australia and its membership consists of builders, trade contractors, manufacturers and suppliers, designers and other industry related professional services.

The aim of the presentation was to provide attendees with an overview and advice/ tips on how to calculate profit on a job; outline the difference between mark-up and margin; common issues in business that may be preventing growth; plus simple tips, procedures and/or strategies that can be implemented to assist in making a business more profitable from. The session was well attended and a number of relevant and interesting questions were asked and discussed during and after the presentation.
